SaveForLater Privacy Policy

SaveForLater ("SaveForLater", "we", "us") is a mobile app that helps you keep track of places, restaurants, recipes and meals you find on social media and elsewhere. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who handles it, and the choices you have. We run SaveForLater under The Howling Coyote Shop.

1. Information we collect

Account information. Your email address and a password. Your password is stored only in securely hashed form by our authentication provider; we cannot read it.
Screenshots and photos you choose. When you tap Add Screenshot and pick an image from your photo library, that image is uploaded so we can analyze it and show it back to you inside the app. We only access images you explicitly select; we do not browse or upload your photo library.
Details extracted from your images. Titles, locations, descriptions, categories, tags, recipe or restaurant details, and any text visible in the image.
Things you create in the app. Saved items, favorites, completed marks, and trips.
Usage information. A simple count of how many screenshot analyses your account has used, so we can apply free-trial and fair-use limits.
Subscription status. Whether your subscription is active and when it expires. Apple processes your payment; we never receive your card or payment details.

We do not collect your precise device location, contacts, or advertising identifier, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

2. How we use your information

To provide the app: sign you in, analyze the screenshots you save, store and display your saved items and trips.
To enforce free-trial and fair-use limits and manage your subscription.
To keep the service secure, fix bugs, and respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising.

3. Service providers who process your data

Supabase hosts our database, sign-in system, and file storage. Data is stored on servers in the United States.
OpenAI analyzes the screenshots you save. The image you choose is sent securely to OpenAI's API to extract the details described above. Under OpenAI's API data usage policy, data sent through the API is not used to train OpenAI's models by default.
Apple handles App Store purchases and subscription billing.
RevenueCat helps us verify and manage subscription status.

These providers may only process your data to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law.

4. Your screenshots may contain other people's information

Screenshots can include usernames, captions or other details of people who appear in social media posts. Please only save content you are comfortable storing privately in your own account. Your saved items are visible only to you.

5. Retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, saved items, trips, uploaded photos and usage records from our systems. Copies in routine backups are overwritten on a rolling basis. If you have a subscription, deleting your account does not cancel it, so please also cancel it in your Apple ID subscription settings. You can also request deletion by emailing us at the address below.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Your photos are stored in a private storage area and are shown to you only through short-lived secure links, and access to your data is restricted to your own account. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your information inside the app, or by contacting us. Depending on where you live (for example California, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom) you may have additional rights, such as obtaining a copy of your data or objecting to certain processing. We will respond to verified requests within the time required by applicable law.

8. Children

SaveForLater is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
